Where it is necessary to remove a section of protective handrailing or catenary chains to provide openings on high level platforms or scaffolds for the handling of goods, there are periods of time when the high level platform is not guarded. This increases the risk of the operator falling to the ground, or the load becoming inadvertently dislodged and falling.
The Sherwood Pallet Gate provides protection for personnel working at levels above ground when engaged in loading or unloading goods by any means, especially by overhead crane or fork-lift.
It is designed to give permanent and continuous protection to anyone working at a high level loading point. Once installed, the pallet safety gate must be used by the operator to gain access to the load or goods, ensuring they are never without protection.
The Sherwood Pallet Gate comes as a standard or can be ‘tailor made’ for each loading point to accommodate varying site conditions, having regard for height and width of load, head clearance and other variables. For high loads, a different configuration is used in the form of an ‘SP’.
Our pallet safety gate is in the form of a swinging gate, revolving about a horizontal axis between two fixed pivot points and swinging through an arc of 180 degrees for the standard gate or 90 degrees for the ‘SP’ gate.
The standard material used for construction is ‘Duragal’ galvanised tube. These pallet loading safety gates, sometimes referred to as an up and over pallet gate or mezzanine pallet gate, are designed to AS 1657, the Australian standard for fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders.
The Sherwood Pallet Gate is robustly designed and built for commercial / industrial use.
